Rockstar wants to ''blow consumers away'' with PS4 & Xbox One GTA 5 (PC as well)

The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (and pc) versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 will exceed fan expectations, Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick believes, who says that "nothing but the very best will satisfy Rockstar".

"They want to blow consumers away," Zelnick told MCV. "Whatever the expectation is, they want to exceed it. When you see GTA 5 on next-gen, I want you to tell me whether it is or isn't better than your expectation. I can guarantee it will be better."

Over 34m copies of GTA 5 have already been sold on Xbox 360 and PS3, making it one of the most successful video games of all time. But Zelnick has his sights set far higher than that.

"One way to look at it is that 34m copies have been sold, but there's 7bn people on Earth. So we have over 6.9bn people left to address," he added. (LOL! is he drunk?!)

"It's a massive market and an amazing title. GTA is the standard bearer in the industry. How can you buy a next-gen console and not want to play GTA on it?"

This is not a ''rumor'' or even a ''leak'' from a random person. The site seems to be really reliable.

LOS ANGELES — After years of anticipation, the long-awaited PC version of GTA V could soon be cancelled, according to a Rockstar employee.

During the interview, Rantic Chairman John Hoffberger, stated that the PC version of GTA 5 could soon be cancelled due to ‘corporate problems’. “The next-gen console launch dates are still intact, but the PC game launch has been agitating for Rockstar staff”, John said.

John also stated,”Rockstar never wanted to release a PC version of GTA V, but due to high public demand, they were forced to do so.”...More at the link.

That has to be the biggest steaming pile of bullshit I have read to date. There have been too many rumors, and all have been false. Please do not trust any source but Rockstar itself. Cancelling the PC version is nowhere near Rockstar's interest as the PC version will be by far the most superior - too much time and resources (and money) would go to waste, and who's stupid enough to do that?

GTA5: Retailer lists PS4,Xbox One and PC Release Date in November [Rumor]

More evidence has surfaced for Grand Theft Auto V releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC in November after another retailer listed Rockstar's game for release then.

A bunch of since-removed listings, which you can see below, on Newegg claim the game will hit next-gen and PC platforms on November 18 in North America, which is the standard release day of Tuesday.



The listing follows numerous others, all pegging a release for sometime in November. Grand Theft Auto V was announced for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One during E3 this year. And the updated version of Rockstar's open-world game will reportedly "take full advantage of the power of PC."

The enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto V has officially only been given a fall release window.

I have a feeling there is going to be an announcement tomorrow...

Saw this on Neogaf:

I saw 30 minutes of gameplay of this game yesterday.

Guys the changes are astounding. Really incredible stuff. Rockstar said their goal was to push PS4 / X1 like how they pushes PS3 and 360. The environment changes they've done are incredible.

[This remaster is the real deal. New trailer should be going out soon.

1. I saw this at the GameStop managers conference in Anehiem. Rockstar gave a 45 minute closed doors presentation.

2. They showed us multiple locals. The city, underwater areas, country side etc.

3. Foliage has been completely reworked. Tree barks been redone, individual grass blades, wild flowers etc. This applies to underwater areas as well. Completely reworked coral reefs and underwater plants.

4. Draw distance now is INSANE. One example they showed us was the main city at night. They showed it on PS3 first amd showed us how all lighting at a distance was pre baked. In the remaster its all pre loaded in real time and is dynamic. You can see lights and traffic flow from massive distances.

5. Water rendering system has been completely redone. Rivers / Ocean / rain are gorgeous

6. No release date given. They simply said soon.

7. Animal texture work has been 100 % re done.

8. Anti Aliasing looked great with little to no jaggies. Looked 1080p to me. It was demoed on PS4.

9. Promised "new" content. One example was new songs / soundtrack / radio stations.

Update: He posting more:

1. Character models have been improved for sure.

2. Street detail is massively improved. Rain water now pools up on the road and honestly reminded me of Infamous Second Sons wet roads.

3. Animal and Wildlife count has been upped. They specifically mentioned how much they learned from Red Dead Remption and the original GTA5 and wanted to improve animal interactions even more.

4. Animals now sport actual fur. As in strands of hair that stick out from the actual body not just flat textures like in the original release.

5. I believe this has been in development since before GTA5s actual release as they said its been heavily worked on for over a year. Believe me you can tell. This is a complete remaster not just an upressed port. A huge chunk of staff have to be working on this.

Cars on the road appeared 2x more or so to me.

Cant comment on physics and such guys as much of what they showed was environmental without tons of action. They showed a lot of the beautiful vistas from a debug mode where they were free camera.

Looked 30 to me. But I believe its not locked down the FPS yet.

considering the visuals I'll be shocked if its 60 at launch but Im not confirming anything.
